On February 15th, 2019, Pieta was scheduled for a cesarean section to welcome baby "Piku," a singleton female, sired by White Whillow's Endless Love, "Luther." Singletons are not common, especially in German Shepherds. We suspected Pieta might not be carrying many pups due to her size, so we decided to xray her and we confirmed the singleton by radiographs. Most often, singletons grow to a massive size and don't always produce enough cortisol to stimulate labor, so we opted to perform the surgery in order to protect Pieta from the stress of a dystocia. We are glad of the decision we made, and are so thankful for the wonderful team of professionals that helped make Piku's arrival as safe as possible, and for their superb monitoring of Pieta through surgery!

Piku is now loved and owned by our friends at White Whillow German Shepherds! She is now known by White Whillow's MissCongeniality or Gracie for short. We are excited to watch Gracie mature and see what she does in the conformation ring! Love you Gracie!!!
