Major's Performance career

Though we have focused mostly on conformation, Major has done really well in performance venues. We truly believe that trainability, working drive, and eagerness to please are very important characteristics to prove in our breeding program and we are thankful that Major has done so well in all the performance venues we have introduced him to! Below are some of his performance accomplishments!

Major is a total dog award recipient. We feel it is important that we prove our dogs are capable of winning in the conformation ring as well as in performance. UKC is a great registry that emphasizes this and supports the total dog concept.

  • Major and I had an exciting weekend on February 24th-25th! We competed in Novice A Obedience in three trials(2 trials on Saturday in Lake Elmo, MN hosted by the GSDCMSP and 1 trial on Sunday hosted by the MKC in Minneapolis, MN). In all three trials he earned a Q and first place! So proud of him and the new venue we tried! With these three qualifying scores, he earned his companion dog(CD) title! Woohoo! Obedience Trial 1: 186/200, Trial 2: 189/200, Trial 3: 186.5/200.
  • In September 2017, Major competed in a few agility trials hosted by the UGSDA. He earned 2 Q's in level 1, and 2 Q's in level 2! This achieved 1 UACH point! Along with his wins in conformation, he earned 2 Total Dog Awards!!!

  • In April of 2015, Major competed in two agility trials. In the first trial of the day in AGII-A, we NQ'd due to some mistakes in time and missing a weave pole. We had fun though, which is the most important thing. Major hadn't competed in agility in 2 years, so we had to re-learn what some of the obstacles were at the trial. In the second trial of the day, Major qualified with a first place to finish his UAGII title!!! Great job moomoo!!!

  • Major competed in conformation and AGII A, and won a Group 1 and qualified in both trials to earn his fourth Total Dog Award!!!(04/2012)

  • In April of 2012, Major earned his 3rd Total Dog Award by winning Best of Breed in conformation and qualifying in AGI B!

  • In September of 2012, Major earned a bonus UKC Agility level one leg with a score of 197/200 and Highest Scoring GSD!

  • In April of 2012, Major competed in 2 UKC performance events as well as conformation in St. Paul, MN. He qualified in the rally trial with a perfect score of 100 to finish his United Kennel Club Rally Level One(URO1) title!!! He also tried UKC Agility, and did really well...earning his first agility title and even scored highest scoring German Shepherd in his very FIRST trial!!! Along with these Q's he also won in conformation earning his 2nd Total Dog Award! Agility Trial 1: Score: 197/200 Time: 58.90 seconds and HIGHEST SCORING GSD!!!
Agility Trial 2: Score: 190/200 Time: 66.68 seconds
Agility Trial 3: Score: 197/200 Time: 63.94 seconds, NEW TITLE!!!!! UAGI!!!
Agility Trial 4: NQ (knocked bar)

  • In April of 2011, Major tried UKC Rally in St. Paul, MN. He qualified in both trials with scores of 88 and 90 for two legs towards his UKC rally title. He also placed 3rd and 4th in the trials! And by winning in conformation he also won his first total dog award!!!

  • In July of 2010, Major started his obedience career with rally at the Duluth Kennel Club AKC shows in Duluth, MN. He qualified in all three trials with scores of 97, 93, and 97 to complete the requirements for his Rally Novice(RN) title!
